Tao Kae Noi is a Thai crispy seaweed snack that first found popularity in Thai 7-Eleven stores in the early 2000s, before spreading around East Asia. Tae Kae Noi's Crispy Seaweed (Wasabi Flavour) takes thin strips of seaweed and coats them in a Wasabi seasoning. Wasabi, or Japanese horseradish, is a plant with similar features as both horseradish and mustard. It is notorious for its peppery, all-encompassing spicy profile. The heat generated from wasabi is different from the heat chilli generates, in that wasabi heat stimulates the sinuses, cleanses the palate, and helps to highlight the flavour of other foods. This crunchy seaweed snack brings the heat and is one for spice lovers to enjoy.
